CBRT Interest Rate Decision

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announces the interest rate policy. This interest rate tends to affect the exchange rate. If the Bank is hawkish about the inflationary outlook of the economy and rises the interest rate then it is positive, or bullish, for the TRY. Likewise if the TCMB has a dovish view on the Turkish economy and keeps the ongoing interest rate or cuts the interest rate then it is negative, or bearish.
