FX Blue Tick Charts for MT4
The Custom Timeframe Generator lets you create charts for timeframes which are not available by default in MT4, e.g. 10-second charts, 3-minute charts, or tick charts. You run a Generator EA on a normal chart for your chosen symbol, and the custom timeframe is then available from MT4's list of offline charts. The custom timeframe continues to update for as long as the Generator EA is running.
Charting in the Figaro Advanced Trader Tools
The charting in our Figaro Advanced Trader Tools is now our recommended way of creating tick candles and custom time periods, in both MT4 and MT5. The Custom Timeframe Generator remains available (for MT4 only, below), but is no longer our suggested solution.
The charts in the Figaro Advanced Trader Tools let you do all of the following:
- Tick candles (e.g. T5, candles made up of 5 ticks each)
- Seconds candles (e.g. S10, candles lasting 10 seconds each)
- Tick charts (lines of each change in the ask and/or bid)
- Custom time periods not supported by MT4, such as M3 and H8
You have access to over 100+ technical indicators, 50+ drawing tools, and you can trade from the charts. And you don't have to deal with the complication of creating and opening separate offline charts.

About the app
The Renko (and range) functionality in the Custom Timeframe Generator has been replaced by a new Renko indicator
The Custom Timeframe Generator lets you create charts for timeframes which are not available by default in MT4:
- Periods such as M3 or H2
- Seconds-charts, e.g. 10-second charts
- Tick charts
You run a Generator EA on a normal chart for your chosen symbol, and the custom timeframe is then available from MT4's list of offline charts. The custom timeframe continues to update for as long as the Generator EA is running.
The software can create historic bars for periods such as M3 from historic M1 data, and can optionally interpolate missing bars on shorter timeframes (e.g. create empty bars on a 10-second chart if there are no ticks within a 10-second period).
Most EAs and indicators will run successfully without modification on the custom chart. (Howevever, please test EAs thoroughly before using them to trade real money from a custom chart.)
